I gave a half-hour summary of my sensorimotor approach to consciousness at the (virtual) “Forum de Sciences Cognitives”. It was followed by about 20 minutes of questions. The title was “Le faux probl\u00e8me de la conscience et la conscience imminente des machines”. I wanted to show that the sensorimotor theory makes it clear that once machines have sufficient cognitive abilities, and when they “live” in an environment which makes it useful to develop a notion of self, then they will have “feels” similar to humans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
