{"id":1356,"date":"2013-07-09T14:19:55","date_gmt":"2013-07-09T13:19:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lpp.psycho.univ-paris5.fr\/feel\/?p=1"},"modified":"2013-07-09T14:19:55","modified_gmt":"2013-07-09T13:19:55","slug":"bonjour-tout-le-monde-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/whatfeelingislike.net\/?p=1356","title":{"rendered":"Kevin O&#8217;Regan at the Living Machines 2013 Conference!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/whatfeelingislike.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/livingmachines2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-5 aligncenter\" alt=\"livingmachines2\" src=\"http:\/\/whatfeelingislike.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/07\/livingmachines2.jpg\" width=\"189\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 2nd edition of\u00a0<strong>Living Machines\u00a0<\/strong>will take place in London at the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhm.ac.uk\/\">Natural History<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nhm.ac.uk\/\">Museum\u00a0<\/a><\/strong>from July 29th to August 2nd, 2013<\/p>\n<p>This international conference is a\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/csnetwork.eu\/\">Convergent Science Network<\/a>\u00a0event and is targeted at the intersection of research on novel life-like technologies inspired by the scientific investigation of biological systems\u2014biomimetics, and research that seeks to interface biological and artificial systems to create biohybrid systems. We seek to highlight the most exciting international research in both of these fields united by the theme of \u201cLiving Machines&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Living Machines\u00a0<\/strong>comprises a week of events including\u00a0<strong>2.5 days of single-track oral presentations<\/strong>\u00a0with\u00a0<strong>five plenary speakers<\/strong>;\u00a0<strong>a 1-day exhibition<\/strong>\u00a0that will include a range of novel biomimetic and biohybrid technologies many of which have not been exhibited in public before; and\u00a0<strong>five satellite workshops<\/strong>\u00a0on themes ranging from artificial \u201cselves\u201d to the societal impacts of living machines.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin O&#8217;Regan will talk at the Workshop on &#8220;Self and Cognitive Systems&#8221; on Monday, July 29th.
